Looking at this again:
Blue was the first thing I gave serious consideration to but just felt the color was too weak overall.
Green I felt was the strongest color in the pool. I wanted lots of green for the multikicker guys.
White with the other two rares complemented the green base nicely. It gave the deck a fairly solid curve and lots of quick beats.
Black and Red were pretty shallow.

A couple equipment made this seem reasonable:

I shuffled up:

Perimiter Captain
Loam Lion
Gnarlid Pack
Cliff Threader
Fledgling Griffin
Greenweaver Druid
2xGrazing Gladehart
Leatherback Baloth
Snapping Creeper
Turntimber Basilisk
Emeria Angel
Battle Hurda
Graypelt Hunter
Territorial Baloth
Vastwood Gorger
Wolfbriar Elemental

Refraction Trap
Windborne Charge

Explorer's Scope
Pilgrim's Eye
Kitesail
Hammer of Ruin

Sejiri Steppe
Quicksand
9 Forest
6 Plains

Marsh Threader vs Cliff Threader - tossup on which of these two to run.

Round 1 I went to time on game two vs Chip and his white/blue deck. Lots of life gain made the aggro gameplan more challenging as did his Emeria Angel + Archon of Redemption, followed by a stalemate where I had three different kinds of tokens in play (I sided in Join the Ranks to try and trick block a tideforce elemental that may attack and was problematic game one), to his fewer but better creatures, tideforce elemental, and higher life total.

Round 2 vs Sam's black green white deck. Lost game one when two of the 10 life matters guys showed up while I kept a sub-optimal hand - so I sided in Rest for the Weary along with the anti-black gameplan and took the matchup while he struggled with mana.

Round 3 vs Terry's white/black deck. Lost game one to a surrakar marauder that I couldn't deal with. Took game two on bombs, and took game three after he stabilized at 3 life, and I topdecked refraction trap for the first and only time all day.

Round 4 vs Joe's blue/black/red deck. - Lost game one to Goliath Sphinx. Lost game two to Surrakar Marauder with an Adventuring Gear.

Round 5 vs William's blue black deck. Split game one and two, and won game three while he struggled to find enough mana and I beat face with a leatherback baloth with a hammer.

Overall, 4-1 is much better than I expected when I put together my deck. Who needs removal anyways?
